YES! We may train elite athletes and powerlifters however the foundations all remain the same. We teach you how to train correctly and safely. We love helping beginners to learn the right way to train and fall in love with the process!
Absolutely! All of our coaching options include nutrition coaching provided by our nutritionists. To achieve optimal results, nutrition is so important. But don’t worry, we won’t make it boring or too hard to stick to and follow, we work around your lifestyle and food preferences, be prepared for delicious meals.
All good things take time, you can’t expect to achieve greatness in a week, to give us both the best chance to succeed, we only ask for an 8 week commitment from both of us, after that it’s just a week by week basis. An enormous amount of effort goes into building out your specific coaching plans so we do ask for 2 weeks notice if you would like to cancel. No hard feelings!
Of course! Our nutritionists are wizards and can put together any sort of nutrition plan, they love a challenge, the fussier the better if you ask them!
A calorie deficit is a term used to describe the state of consuming fewer calories than what is needed for maintaining current body weight. This creates an energy deficit in the body, which forces it to burn stored fat and use it as fuel to create energy. It is recommended that when creating a calorie deficit, one should be sure to maintain a balanced diet and include a range of essential vitamins and minerals to ensure optimum nutrition. That’s what we are here for!
A calorie surplus is when you consume more calories than your body needs for energy. This can be used to either gain weight or build muscle mass, depending on the individual’s goals. It involves eating more calories than the amount of energy that is burned off in a given day. The extra calories are stored as fat or turned into muscle depending on the type of exercise and physical activity. Eating a calorie surplus is particularly useful for athletes or those looking to either build muscle mass or increase their bodyweight. It can also be used as part of weight loss strategies when combined with increased physical activity.
The best foods for fat loss, are the ones you can consistently eat, and enjoy whilst maintaining your calorie deficit! We have fat loss clients eating chocolate daily and eating out once or twice a week. As long as you are getting all the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients the body needs – there are no good or bad foods for weight loss. The important thing is having a sustainable plan, that hits the macronutrient goals you need to melt that fat!
We never do cardio in any of our 1:1 sessions or in our programming! Unless you call sets of 10 cardio…. In saying that we often prescribe daily step/activity goals for our clients. This helps manage variables and keeps a base level of health and fitness that we think every one should have. No point looking a million bucks if you can’t walk around the block without passing out!
